South West Nutrition Services | BunburyHi I’m Lana Brandli. As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) I am required to continually develop my nutrition knowledge and skills so you are guaranteed a quality, up-to-date service. In 2003 I decided to “go-it-alone” in private practice because of a desire to give a high quality service and have genuine compassion for country people which is often sadly lacking in many large businesses today. I have lived on and off in the Bunbury area for 10 years but have now settled happily in the area. My first job as a Dietitian was with the Great Southern Division of General Practice. As a result I developed expertise in the area of cardiovascular disease which included GP based education for clients with diabetes (type 2, type 1 and gestational), high cholesterol, high blood pressure and weight reduction. Lana also has great success with bowel issues including irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular disease, post bowel resection care and inflammatory bowl disease such as ulcerative colitis or cronh’s disease. So much so that many GP’s and specialist refer to Lana for optimal care. Working for Perth Diet Clinic between 2005 – 2006 gave Lana much experience in the area of food allergy and intolerance. This is a very intricate area which can be very confusing if not deal with by a professional with knowledge and experience in this area. I offer down to earth, non-judgmental, straight down the line nutrition advice and support. Worked at SJOG hospital in Bunbury where consults included bowel resection, stomal therapy, gastrectomy, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and crohn’s disease), diverticular disease, cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder), oncology nutrition and enteral and parental (tube) feeding regimes. I also worked in the renal unit consulting patients receiving haemodialysis. I also consult in the majority of nursing homes in the Bunbury area and services are extended to Busselton and Collie. Issues in nursing homes include enteral (tube) feeding, weight loss, weight gain, malnutrition, constipation, diarrhoea, diabetes, parkinsons and huntingtoms disease. I am also called upon to review the menu to ensure the quality and variety of meals are optimal. In general a private practice dietitian can do the following for clients:
